Dear Council Members:
219/2849322
The enclosed ordinance will be presented for your consider-
ation at first reading of the July 13, 1981 council meeting.
The ordinance both appropriates $37,000.00 from the Water Works
Depreciation Fund and approves a contract between Morse Electric
Inc. and the Board of Water Works Commissioners utilizing those
funds to modify the present wells at the South Well field
Those modifications will allow the City to produce an addi-
tional 4 to 4.5 million gallons of water per day. While that
amount will not replace the losses suffered because of the Olive
Well field contamination problem, any additional pumpage we may
produce during the summer dry months will be of value. It is
anticipated that these modifications will be completed by the
second week of August.
Thank you for your consideration of this matter. If I may
provide additional information, feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Michael L. Vance
