AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $500,000.00 FROM THE
CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND TO
PROJECT CS 811, OLD CLEVELAND ROAD SANITARY SEWER,
WITHIN THE CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING
FUND.
In the best interest of public safety and welfare it is necessary
to construct certain trunk sewer improvements on Old Cleveland Road from
Bendix Drive to U. S. 31 to provide for sanitary sewer service.
Funds are now needed for the cost of construction for these improve-
ments. These funds are available from the Cumulative Sewer Building and
Sinking Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
Section I: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated
and ordered set apart from the Cumulative Sewer Building and Sinking Fund
for the project in the amount set forth below:

Section II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

The attached is a proposed ordinance requesting an appropriation of $500,000.00
from the Cumulative Sewer Building and Sinking Fund to be used for the Old
Cleveland Road Sanitary Sewer Project. The balance in this fund after this
proposed appropriation is $1,527,019.44.
The above referenced project entails the construction of a sanitary sewer
system along Old Cleveland Road from Bendix Drive to U. S. 31. The purpose
of this project is to provide sanitary sewer service to the newly annexed area
north of the Michiana Regional Airport. This particular sewer is a requirement
of the annexation ordinance.
The requested appropriation is to be used for the construction cost of the
project. The plans and specifications have been prepared by the City
Engineer's office.
