Easement(s) to Indiana Michigan Power Co.
for Additions to South Bend Clinic
December 17, 1992
The Indiana Michigan Power company requests that the City of South Bend
grant them easement(s) to construct and install and underground power
feed to serve the addition to the South Bend Clinic now under
construction. If granted, the power cable would be placed in the tree
lawn along LaSalle Avenue and Francis Street on the Clinics north and
west boundaries. I&M prefers an easement rather than the usual right of
way agreement to avoid the liability for the expense of relocating the
cable should it become necessary to do so for any future public
improvments. A letter from the operators of the Clinic, Medical Arts
Corp of South Bend, is attached stating that they are willing to bind
themselves to an agreement with the City to pay for such relocation it
and when it becomes necessary.
I ask the Board to agree to this in principle at the earliest time so
that service to the Clinic can proceed. The formal easement and
Agreement documents will be prepared for execution in a timely fashion.

Re: Easement
Dear Mr. Littrell:
Medical Arts Corp of South Bend (The South Bend
Clinic) requests easements on the Forth side ( E,
LaSalle St.), and the west side (North Francis
St,) of its property lines, for the purpose of
installing I & M Power Co. underground electric
lines to our new.building. Medical Arts Corp of
South Bend agrees to pay the cost of moving these
lines in case of Public Works Improvement in the
future.
