There are two separate Boards. Applicants may apply <br />to serve on one or both Boards. If applying for both Boards applicants must submit two <br />separate applications. <br />The Merit Boards will be responsible for making decisions regarding the hiring, firing, <br />disciplines, promotions of sworn police officers and firefighters in South Bend. <br />Applicants must be of good moral character and be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. <br />Applicants must be a resident of the City of South Bend and may not be an active member of <br />a police or fire department. <br />Online applications can be found at https://forms.office.com/r/jCzKF81hm0.
