The City of South Bend is an active member of the Drive Clean Indiana(Formerly South Shore Clean Cities)and MACOG organizations. The Central Services Division is working together with these organizations to look for opportunities to reduce our petroleum consumption,carbon footprint and improve air quality in our region. 2. The City of South Bend currently owns 216 vehicles that can operate on Compressed Natural Gas. As a result,the City used 181,447 diesel equivalent gallons of CNG at a cost savings of$358,969 from 1/1/2024 to 12/31/2024. 3. The City of South Bend partnered with Transpo to build a fast fill CNG fueling station which opened in 2016. This station services the City and Transpo fleets. 4. There is one public CNG fueling site operated by 1NG,CNG Services,located at 6161 Brick Road. 5. For year 2024 there were no Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants. 6. Along with the 216 vehicles using CNG as a fuel source,the City also has one(1)electric car,four(4) Electric motorcycles, and fifty(50)hybrid vehicles.
