SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
January 8, 2025, 1:00 PM

Members present: Amy Roush, Coby Deal, Derek Erquhart
Members absent: Brad Rohrscheib, Kyle Ludlow
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 1:01 PM by Ms Roush.
2. Approval of minutes
Upon a motion by Ms Roush and seconded by Derek Erquhart, the minutes from the previous
meeting held on December 11, 2024 were approved unanimously.
3. Approval of Special Event Permits
3a. Martin Luther King Jr Celebration-January 20 2025
The members of the Committee discussed the application submitted by Gladys
Muhammad on behalf of MLK Foundation/Project Impact, for the annual MLK, Jr
Celebration March. The walk is scheduled to start at the St Joseph County-City Building.
Participants will follow a route on the sidewalks adjacent to Jefferson Blvd and progress
to Century Center.
SBPD is aware of the event and will have officers on hand as needed to assist with
crossings at intersections and/or any issues that may emerge along the route.
Having no further questions or concerns, Ms Roush put forth a motion to approve the
Special Events Application for the march.

Upon a motion by Ms Roush and seconded by Mr Erquhart, the permit for Martin Luther King Jr
Celebration was approved unanimously.

6. Adjournment
With no additional business to discuss, Ms Roush motioned for adjournment, and Mr
Erquhart seconded. The meeting concluded at 1:05 PM.
