GAMMON Clerk ORDINANCE NO. 70� -8a AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $350,000.00 FROM THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND TO PROJECT R &S 8204, SCARIFICATION AND PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS 1982, WITHIN THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: In order to meet existing and proposed traffic demands and to provide for the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, certain street improvements are necessary. These improvements include scarification, resurfacing, and pavement joint repairs of varying degrees on various streets within the City of South Bend. Funds are now needed to pay for the cost of these improvements. These funds are available from the Local Road and Street Fund. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: Section I: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated and ordered set apart out of the Local Road and Street Fund for the project in the amount set forth below: PROJECT NO. Leszczynski Director, Public Works Division of (219) 284 -9251 Engineering July 19, 1982 Members of the Common Council 4th floor, County -City Building South Bend, IN 46601 Attention: Public Works Committee Dear Councilmen: The attached ordinance requests a total of $350,000.00 from the Local Road and Street Fund to be utilized by this office in contracting for scarification resurfacing, and pavement joint repairs of varying degrees on various streets within the City of South Bend. The balance in the Local Road and Street Fund after this appropriation is $237,138.72. Some of the streets being considered at this time are Main St. from Sample to Donmoyer, Mishawaka Avenue from Ironwood to Logan, Mishawaka Avenue from Twyckenham to just east of the Cooper Bridge, Ireland Rd. from Miami to Ironwood and Sample St. from Mayflower to Greenview. However, this is subject to change depending on bids received. This work will require equipment and manpower not currently available to the City.
