AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $35,000.00 FROM THE
FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMMONLY REFERRED TO
AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FOR THE REPAIR OF
ISLAND PARK TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT
OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT::
Whereas, Island Park is in need of necessary repairs to
maintain the park and funds are now available in the General Revenue
Sharing Fund.
SECTION I. The sum of $35,000.00 is hereby appropriated
for the year 1981 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund, commonly
known as the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. This appropriation
is to be administered by the Department of Public Works and will be
distributed as set forth below:

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

This bill would fund a portion of the monies required to
repair the structural damage to Island Park.
We anticipate that the total cost will be approximately
$80,000.00, with the other funding to come from the Park
Department and Century Center. We hope to get this work
started as soon as possible in order to have it completed
prior to the winter months.

this matter.
