AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $35,000.00 FROM
THE CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING
FUND TO PROJECT CS 817, DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS -
FAIRFAX SUBDIVISION, WITHIN THE CUMULATIVE
SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In the best interest of public health and safety, it is necessary
to provide drainage of the Swale and to construct pipe and culvert improve-
ments to relieve the drainage problems in this subdivision.
Funds are now needed for the cost of construction for these improve-
ments. These funds are available from the Cumulative Sewer Building and
Sinking Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
Section I: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated and
ordered set apart from the Cumulative Sewer Building and Sinking Fund
for the project in the amount set forth below:

817 Drainage Improvements - $ 35,000.00
Fairfax Subdivision
Total Appropriation $ 35,000.00
Section II: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

Dear Council Members:
The attached is an ordinance requesting an appropriation of $35,000.00 from
the Cumulative Sewer Building and Sinking Fund to be used for drainage
improvements to be made in the Fairfax subdivision. It is necessary to
provide proper drainage of the swale and to construct pipe and culvert
improvements to relieve the drainage problems that exist within this sub-
division. The balance in the Cumulative Sewer Building and Sinking Fund
after this appropriation is approved is $2,042,117.63.
