AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $35,000.00 FROM
THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND TO PROJECT 8202,
INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL ON SAMPLE STREET
AT THE TORRINGTON CORPORATION, WITHIN THE LOCAL
ROAD'AND STREET FUND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to bring Sample Street up to the standards necessary to
meet existing traffic needs, and to allow safe pedestrian crossing,
certain improvements have been proposed.
Funds are now needed for the cost of construction of these improve-
ments. These funds are available from the Local Road and Street Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
Section I: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated and
ordered set apart from the Local Road and Street Fund for the project in
the amount set forth below:

Section II: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from

The attached is an ordinance requesting an appropriation of $35,000.00
from the Local Road and Street Fund to be used to pay for the cost of
installation of a traffic signal on Sample Street at the Torrington
Corporation. In the interest of public safety it is necessary to install
a signal at this location to allow for safe pedestrian crossing and better
traffic movement. The balance in the Local Road and Street Fund after
approval of this ordinance is $973,960.28.
Your favorable consideration on this proposed ordinance is requested. If
