GAMMON Approved and signed by m IOP t' ORDINANCE NO. 76 yy_�� AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $11,000 FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FOR THE 1982 SUMMER ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN -UP PROGRAM. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: It is the intent of the administration to administer a Summer Clean -up program for 1982 through the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office. CETA will pay personnel charges, but monies are needed for support services. Funds are available in the General Revenue Sharing Fund. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: SECTION I. That the sum of $11,000 is hereby appropriated for the year 1982 from the Federal Assistance Grant, commonly known as the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. Mayor COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 16601 Dear City Council Members: Neighborhood Code Enforcement 219/284.9486 219/284.9498 219/284.9803 March 9, 1982 The Neighborhood Code Enforcement office is requesting $11,000.00 in Federal Revenue Sharing Funds to supplement the budget for the 1982 Summer Clean -up Crew Program. The personnel costs will be paid by CETA from the Summer Youth Program Fund. The Federal Revenue Sharing Funds will provide financial support for equipment repair, rental of vans, gasoline and equipment. The Neighborhood Code Enforcement office will administer the program. This year the Neighborhood Code Enforcement office anticipates hiring 16 -18 crew members, one coordinator and one supervisor. The program has been scaled down this year since CETA anticipates a decrease in funding for the summer employment program. The crews will be responsible for cleaning city owned lots, alleys and privately owned lots that have been cited by the Neighborhood Code Enforcement office.
