AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING VARIOUS
PARTS OF CHAPTER 6, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 6 -4
PERMIT FEES, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND,.INIANA
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The Common Council of the City of South Bend has been conducting
a comprehensive review of all of its permit and license fees issued by
the City.
The Building Commissioner has proposed a new f_ee.schedule for new
building construction as well as remodeling.
The following bill incorporates these suggestions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows:
SECTION I. The Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana,
is hereby amended by deleting sub - sections (1) through (6) of Section
6 -4 (a) of Chapter 6, Article 1 of the Municipal Code of the City of
South Bend, and substituting the following:
Sec. 6 -4. Permit Fees.
(a) The fees to be charged for the issuing of permits by the
Building Department, not otherwise provided for in the Building Code
adopted by Section 6 -5, shall be paid at the time the permit is issued
and shall be as follows:

$1.00 to $1,000
$1,001 to $2,000
$2,001 to $10,000
$10.001 to $100,000

SECTION II. Chapter 6, Article 1, Section 6 -4 (a) (2) through
(6) of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend shall be reserved
for future use.
SECTION III. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and a t - -der its passage by the Common Council, approved by the Mayor,
and legal publication.
