PARENT, Mayor COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 February 2, 1982 Members of the Common Council 4th Floor County -City Building South Bend, Indiana 46601 Dear Members of the Council: 219/284 -9742 The bill that you have before you would delete the Parking Meter Fund, which is only used at this time to collect monies received from parking tickets. These funds have always been used to support the parking garages. This has required that monies be transferred from the Parking Meter Fund to the Park- ing Garage Fund from time to time to take care of deficit balances. Since the Parking Meter Fund is used only for these revenues, and these revenues have always been pledged to the Parking Garage Fund, it would be more efficient to have only one fund. During the 1980 audit of the Parking Garages, Crowe Chizek and Company expressed their desire that we combine these two funds. If you have any questions regarding this bill, please contact me. Your favorable consideration will be appreciated.
