AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $161,000.00 FROM
THE MUNICIPAL BONDS OF 1981 FUND FOR MOTOR
EQUIPMENT WITHIN THE STREET DEPARTMENT
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
WHEREAS, the City has earned interest on
proceeds from the General Obligation Bond, and this interest
is available for capital projects and
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed for motor
equipment to meet the needs of the Street Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That $161,000.00 is hereby ap-
propriated to account 427.0 Motor Equipment within the
Municipal Bond of 1981 Fund.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council
and approved by the Mayor.

This bill would appropriate $161,000 from interest earned on
the investment of General Obligation bond funds. To date
approximately $255,000 is available in interest earned on in-
vestments.
This appropriation will be used for the purchase of motor
equipment needed for the operation of the Street Department.
