Dear Council Members:
The South Bend Board of Park Commissioners, at its regular
meeting, November 16, 1981, passed a motion petitioning the
Common Council to place the operation of the Department of
Public Parks under Indiana Code 36 -10 -4. Such a move is
necessitated because of the Home Rule Law passed at the last
legislature which recodified all park laws thus eliminating
the law the Park Department had previously operated under.
Very truly yours,
