The recent cuts mandated by the State Board of Tax Commissioners resulted in reductions in the Park Department in excess of $215,000.00. Among the things that were cut at that time were funds to operate the Howard Park Senior Citizen Center. The Mayor and the Park Board are committed to the continued oper- ation of the Center, and this $25,000.00 appropriation would make that possible. Your favorable consideration is requested. Thank you very much. Sincerely, ^ a7 mes R.
