ORDINANCE SETTING $1,500.00 AS THE AMOUNT TO BE PAID

Indiana Code 19- 1 -24 -3, which provided for the payment of
funeral benefits to the heirs or estate of any active or retired

superseded by Indiana Code 36- 8 -6 -10, which increases that minimum

Dear Members of the Council:
219/284 -9742
This bill would increase from $600.00 to $1,500.00 the amount
to be paid for funeral benefits from the Police Pension Fund.
It is necessary that the Council approve this increase because
Indiana Code 19- 1 -24 -3, which provided for the $600.00 payment,
was superseded by Indiana Code 36- 8 -6 -10, which increased the
minimum amount to $1,500.00.
If there are any questions on this bill please contact Eugenia
Schwartz or myself.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
J_ ose P h E. Kernan
