Duties: The Health and Public oversees the various activities performed by the Fire and Police Departments, EMS,Department of Code Enforcement,ordinance violations, and related health and public safety matters. Members: Four(4)Council Members and two(2)Citizen Members served on the Committee in 2024. They included: 1. Councilmember At-Large,Rachel Tomas Morgan,Chairperson 2. Councilmember At-Large, Oliver Davis,Vice-Chair 3. Councilmember At-Large,Karen White,Member 4. Councilmember District 4, Troy Warner,Member 5. Mr. Savino Rivera,Citizen Member 6. Mr. Frank Spesia,Citizen Member Meetings: Five(5)public meetings were held in 2024. The Committee reviewed and held hearings on one(1)bill during calendar year 2024. Update and presentation by Council Attorney Bob Palmer: House Act No. 1016 and Indiana Codes Pertaining to and Related to Establishing a Police Merit System and Police Merit Board under State Statues 2.
