A SPECIAL PROCLAMATION ON BEHALF OF THE SOUTH BEND COMMON
COUNCIL EXPRESSING ITS CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF
THE SIX (6) CHILDREN WHO PASSED IN A RECENT FIRE
0/Jana, a tragic fire swept through a home in South Bend on January 21, 2024; and
O, six (6) children were unable to escape and passed because of that fire; and
Nam', the victims included: Faith Smith (17 months); D'Angelo Smith (4 years);
Deontay Smith (5 years); Davida Smith (9 years); Demetris Smith (10 years); and Angel Smith
(11 years); and
O, these deaths have united many in both grief and support for family and friends;
and
(*at* the South Bend Common Councils joins in that grief and support by expressing
its condolences.
