AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $14,000.00 FROM
THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY RE-
FERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FOR THE
REPAIR OF TRUCK LIFTS FOR 1982 TO BE
ADMINISTERED BY THE BUREAU OF TRAFFIC & LIGHTING
WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA:
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
WHEREAS, the lifts on the trucks used by the Bureau of
Traffic and Lighting must be repaired in order to remain operable
and funds for these repairs are now available in the General Revenue
Sharing Fund;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council
of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
SECTION I.' That the sum of $14,000.00 is hereby
appropriated for the year 1982 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund,
commonly known as the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. This approp-
riation is to be adminstered by the Bureau of Traffic & Lighting and
will be distributed as set forth below:

SECTION II. That this Ordinance shall be in full force

Dear Councilmen:
The attached is an ordinance requesting an appropriation of
$14,000.00 from the Federal Assistance Grant, commonly referred
to as General Revenue Sharing, for the repair of truck lifts for
1982 to be administered by the Bureau of Traffic & Lighting
within the General Fund of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
The lifts are used for the repair and maintenance of our traffic
signal equipment. We have contacted several repair companies and
they have recommended that we not use the lifts until they are
repaired. The newest lift was purchased in 1974. All three
lifts are in need of repair.
