PARENT, Mayor COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 Members of the Council Common Council City of South Bend Dear Council Members: November 15, 1982 219/284 -9322 There will be presented for your consideration at first readings of the November 22, 1982 Council Meeting an ordinance approving a contract between the Board of Water Works Commissioners and Ira C. Mast and Son Inc. in the amount of $62,975. If approved this contract will enable us to begin the renovation of the North Pumping Station including making necessary repairs and modifications which are essential as a result of the flooding of that station early in 1982. The scope of work included in this phase concentrates on the moving of the Instrumentation Room and Superintendents office to an elevation above flood level. Also included are heating, plumbing, and electrical changes necessary to accomodate this modi- fication. After this phase is completed I anticipate moving ahead with the equipment replacement based on bids to be taken at a future time. Funding has been included in the 1982 budget and, therefore, I request your approval of this ordinance. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact my office.
