AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $104,500 FROM THE CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND TO PROJECT CS823, HAWTHORNE DRIVE SANITARY SEWER, WITHIN THE CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: In the best interest of public health and safety, it is necessary to replace the existing sanitary sewer on Hawthorne Drive. Funds are now needed for the construction costs for this improvement. These funds are available from the Cumulative Sewer Building and Sinking Fund. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: SECTION I: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated and ordered set apart from the Cumulative Sewer Building and Sinking Fund for the project in the amount set forth below: PROJECT NO. The present sanitary sewer system is failing due to cave -ins and crumbling caused by sub - surface irregularities. The balance in this fund after this appropriation is $891,645.70.
