AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $25,000.00
FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT FUND
COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE
SHARING FOR HOWARD PARK SENIOR CITIZEN
CENTER FOR 1983 TO BE ADMINISTERED BY
THE PARK DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to maintain operations of the Howard
Park Senior Citizen Center in 1983, it is necessary to fund the
positions through General Revenue Sharing. These funds are
available in the Federal Assistance Grant Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That the sum of $25,000.00 is hereby
appropriated for the year 1983 from the Federal Assistance Grant
Fund commonly known as the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund.
This appropriation is to be administered by the Park Department
and will be distributed as set forth below:

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from an after its passage by the Common Council,
approval by the Mayor, and approval by the State Board of Tax
Commissioners.

Dear Council Members:
The Department of Public Parks is requesting the Council's
favorable action on approving the enclosed ordinance appropri-
ating $25,000.00 from General Revenue Sharing to the Personal
Services Account in the Park Department budget. The money will
be used to pay for the salaries of the Senior Citizen Director
at Howard Park $10,703.00; the Assistant Director $6,094.00; and
$8,203.00 for custodial services at the center.
Your approval of this ordinance is needed for the operation of
the Howard Park Senior Citizens Center.
