South Bend, IN 46601 Dear Council Members: January 18, 1983 219/284 -9742 The attached ordinance would establish a Security and Intelligence account within the Controller's budget of the General Fund. This account would be used for security and intelligence equipment which the Administration and Finance Department determines is necessary for safe operation of the government of the City. Currently there is not a specific account from which such purchases can be made; however, as part of the normal operation of the City government, certain pur- chases become necessary from time to time to maintain security. In order to follow correct procedures under the State Board of Accounts, I am requesting that such an account be established. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
