AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $65,000.00 FROM THE LOCAL
ROAD AND STREET FUND TO PROJECT R &S 8305, TRAFFIC
SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS ON IRELAND ROAD AND OTHER VARIOUS
INTERSECTIONS WITHIN SOUTH BEND, WITHIN THE LOCAL
ROAD AND STREET FUND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to bring Ireland Road from Main Street to Ironwood
and other various intersections within South Bend up to the standards
necessary to meet existing traffic needs and to provide the public with
a safer roadway, certain improvements have been proposed.
Funds are now needed for the engineering costs for this improve-
ment. These funds are available from the Local Road and Street Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
Section I: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated
and ordered set apart out of the Local Road and Street Fund for the project
in the amount set forth below:

Section II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect

The attached is a proposed ordinance requesting an appropriation of
$65,000.00 from the Local Road and Street Fund to be used for engineer-
ing services for upgrading the signals on Ireland Road and other
various intersections within South Bend. The balance in the Local
Road and Street Fund after this appropriation is $310,045.09.
Your favorable consideration is requested on this proposed ordinance.
