AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $70,000.00 FROM THE LOCAL ROAD
AND STREET FUND TO PROJECT R &S 71, LOGAN STREET IMPROVE -
MENTS, WITHIN THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In the best interest of public safety it is necessary to reconstruct
Logan Street from the Grand Trunk and Western Railroad to Bulla Street in
order to provide a safer roadway.
Additional funds are now needed for the cost of engineering and
right -of -way. These funds are available from the Local Road and Street Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
Section I: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated and
ordered set apart from the Local Road and Street Fund for the project in
the amount set forth below:

71 Logan Street Improvements $ 70,000.00
Total Project $ 70,000.00
Section II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

Dear Councilmen:
The attached is a proposed ordinance requesting an appropriation of
$70,000.00 for engineering and right -of -way costs for the Logan Street
Project. This project entails installation of storm sewers, signals, and
channelization and widening of Logan Street from the Grand Trunk and Western
Railroad tracks to Bulla Street. The balance in the account after this
appropriation is $240,045.09.
Your favorable consideration on this ordinance is requested. Should you
