HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-28-24 Special Events Committee Minutes SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES August 28, 2024, 1:00 PM 731 S. Lafayette Blvd, South Bend, IN 46601 Members present: Amy Roush, Kyle Ludlow, Derek Erquhart, Coby Deal. 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 1:0 PM by Ms Roush. 2. Approval of minutes Upon a motion by Ms Roush and seconded by Mr Ludlow, the minutes from the previous meeting held on August 14, 2024 were approved unanimously. 3. Approval of Special Event Permits 3a. Neighborhood Block Party-September 14 2024 Joseph Adams Jr appeared at the meeting to outline the activities and location for the proposed Neighborhood Block Party. The event will offer free food, fun activities and fellowship. Kingdom Life Christian Cathedral is the sponsor for the event. The committee members did not note any conflicts with the street closure or have any concerns in granting approval of the application. Upon a motion by Ms Roush and seconded by Mr Ludlow, the permit Neighborhood Block Party was approved unanimously. 3b. E Woodside Block Party-September 15 2024 Matt Jenkins joined the committee meeting via Teams to discuss his application for street closure of E Woodside Street between York Rd and the North prong of E Woodside to Page | 2 accommodate a Neighborhood Block Party. The party will welcome all neighborhood residents and feature food, games, and activities for all ages. A Rain Date of September 22 2024 was requested to allow for inclement weather. The committee members did not note any conflicts with the street closure or have any concerns in granting approval of the application. Upon a motion by Ms Roush and seconded by Mr Ludlow, the permit for E Woodside Block Party was approved unanimously, 4. Other Business 5. Privilege of the Floor None 6. Adjournment With no additional business to discuss, Ms Roush motioned for adjournment, and Mr Ludlow seconded. The meeting concluded at 1:10 PM.
