AN ORDINANCE REDUCING VARIOUS
LINE ITEMS IN ORDINANCE 7094 -82,
1983 BUDGET.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to avoid a deficit balance in the
General Fund at the end of 1983, it is necessary to reduce the
1983 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That the following line items be reduced
in Ordinance number 709 -82 as set forth below:

Dear Council Members:
The attached bill would officially reduce the 1983 General
Fund budget by $143,100.
The proposed reductions have already been instituted by the
various Department Heads, and this bill would satisfy a request
by the State Board of Tax Commissioners that the reductions
be formalized by Council action.
