Tirado, Elivet Quijada-Navarro, Matthew Neal, Samuel Turck, Bob Palmer Presenters: Angela Smith, Canneth Lee* Agenda: Bill No. 40-24—Alley Vacation—The First North-South Alley East of Main Street Between Lasalle Avenue on the South and South of Madison Street Members marked with an asterisk (*) are present digitally Please note the attached link for the meeting recording: https:Hdoes.southbendin.Gov/WebLink/0/edoe/385449/09-09-2024%2OCouncil%2OCommittees.mp4 Committee Chair Niezgodski called to order the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee meeting at 4:00 p.m. Bill No. 40-24—Alley Vacation—The First North-South Alley East of Main Street Between Lasalle Avenue on the South and South of Madison Street Erik Horvath, Director of Public Works with offices on the 131h floor of the County-City Building, spoke regarding Bill No. 40-24. This bill would vacate an alley to the north of the Morris Performing Arts Center, which is currently used as a pedestrian walkway from the parking lot at the rear of the facility. Committee Vice Karen White asked if the alley is currently used for vehicles. Erik Horvath stated no. This alley vacation is part of a larger plan to develop a parking garage at this location. Citizen Member Carl Littrell stated the construction plans needed to provide for emergency egress from the building. Erik Horvath stated that it will, as the fire exits are on that side of the building. Committee Chair Niezgodski held the public hearing and nobody spoke.
