AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $400,000.00 FROM
THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND TO PROJECT
R &S 8401 1984 RESURFACING PROJECT, WITHIN
THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to meet existing and proposed traffic demands and to
provide for safe and efficient movement of vehicles, certain street
improvements are necessary. These improvements include resurfacing
and other street repairs on various streets within the City of
South Bend.
Funds are now needed to pay for the costs of these improvements.
These funds are available from the Local Road and Street Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
Section I: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated
and ordered set apart out of the Local Road and Street Fund
for the project in the amount set forth below:

8401 1984 Resurfacing Project $ 400,000.00
Total Project $ 400,000.00
Section II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval
by the Mayor.

The attached ordinance is a request for an appropriation
of $400,000.00 from the Local Road and Street Fund to
cover part of the cost of the resurfacing program for 1984.
The balance in the Local Road and Street Fund after this
appropriation is $413,811.20.
