AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $21,000.00 FROM THE LOCAL
ROAD AND STREET FUND TO PROJECT R &S 8403, TRAFFIC
SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS, WITHIN THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET
FUND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to bring various intersections within South Bend up
to the standards necessary to meet existing traffic needs and to
provide the public with a safer roadway, certain improvements have
been proposed.
Funds are now needed for the engineering costs for this improve-
ment. These funds are available from the Local Road and Street Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
Section I: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated
and ordered set apart out of the Local Road and Street Fund for the
project in the amount set forth below:

Section II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after i-ts passage by the Common Council and approval by the

The attached is a proposed ordinance requesting an appropriation of
$21,000.00 from the Local Road and Street Fund to be used for engineer-
ing services for upgrading the signals at various intersections within
South Bend. The balance in the Local Road and Street Fund after this
appropriation is $242,811.20.
