Dear Councilman Beck:
219/284 -9483
The enclosed ordinance has been filed for first reading of
the April 9, 1984 South Bend Common Council meeting. The
ordinance would appropriate $25,000 to fund those salaries
necessary in running the Senior Citizen Center.
During 1983 the Center was also funded through the same
source at the $25,000 level. We have maintained that level
through a reduction in temporary wages and salaries that reflect
less hours of maintenance on the facility. The Senior Citizen
Center is an essential program that provides activities for a
significant segment of the community.
