AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $170,000.00 FROM THE LOCAL
ROAD AND STREET FUND TO PROJECT R &S 8404, SCARIFICATION
AND PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS 1984 WITHIN THE LOCAL ROAD
AND STREET FUND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to meet existing and proposed traffic demands and to
provide for the safe and efficient.movement of vehicles, certain street
improvements are necessary. These improvements include scarification,
resurfacing, and pavement joint repairs of varying degrees on various
streets within the City of South Bend.
Funds are now needed to pay for the cost of these improvements.
These funds are available from the Local Road and Street Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
Section I: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated
and ordered set apart out of the Local Road and Street Fund for the
project in the amount set forth below:

Section II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after ;its passage by the Common Council and approval by the
Mayor.

Dear Councilmen:
The attached ordinance requests a total of $170,000.00 from the Local
Road and Street Fund to be utilized by this office in contracting for
scarification,resurfacing, and pavement joint repairs of varying
degrees on various streets within the City of South Bend. The balance
in the Local Road and Street Fund after this appropriation is
$72,811.20.
Your favorable consideration of this appropriation is requested. Should
you have any questions regarding this proposed ordinance, please contact
me at your earliest convenience.
