Committee Chair Sheila Niezgodski called to order the Public Works & Property Vacation
Committee meeting at 4:00 p.m.
Bill No. 22-22 -Alley Vacation Ordinance-Five Corners, East Side of South Bend Avenue
Between Corby Blvd. and Campeau
Robert Nichols, with March Consultants, 315 West Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana,
46601, advised that the fire department identified an additional turning radius required for its
trucks at a comer lot not owned by the developer. Concrete islands were installed to accommodate
the requirement.
Committee Chair Hamann requested questions to the petitioner from the Committee.
Citizen Member Carl Littrell asked if the vehicle access to South Bend Avenue mid-way along the
building would be removed.
Robert Nichols responded that the vehicle access would be removed, and the pedestrian trail would
be restored.

Committee Chair Hamann asked if the public wishes to speak in favor or opposition of Bill No.
22-22.
Clerk Jones responded that no one (1) from the public wishes to speak in favor or opposition of
Bill No. 22-22.
Committee Chair Hamann entertained a motion to send Bill No. 22-22 to the Committee of the
Whole with a favorable recommendation.
Citizen Member Littrell motioned to send Bill No. 22-22 to the Committee of the Whole with a
favorable recommendation, which was seconded by Committee Member Hamann and carried by
a vote of four ( 4) ayes.
