Committee Chair Sheila Niezgodski called to order the Public Works & Property Vacation
Committee meeting at 4:31 p.m.
Bill No. 10-22
Regina Presten Williams and Thelma Williams, members of the Far Northwest Neighborhood
Association, addressed vacating the alley between Keller and Marquette on the northwest side of
town. The intent is to develop affordable housing. It is difficult for older people to enter via back
entrances due to safety and snow. There was discussion on how to make a back entrance more
accessible. The access between Keller and Marquette is not full access between these streets, as
there are bushes and other barriers. The homes that exist in this area are occupied. The neighbors
have been consulted regarding this development. There was discussion regarding curb cuts in this
area. Taxes were discussed and considered, as there will be extra taxes after the alley is vacationed.
The floor was open for public comments. There were no comments in favor or opposition for the
Bill.
Committee member White motioned to recommend substitute Bill No. 10-22 to full council with
a favorable recommendation, seconded by Committee Vice-Chair Hamann, and carried by a vote
of five ( 5) ayes.

With no further business, Committee Chair Sheila Niezgodski adjourned the committee meeting
at 5:35 p.m.
