This is for a duplex. Numerous vacant lots were purchased many years ago and the objective is to build affordable housing. This is why there is the request to vacate the alley. There was discussion on the rationale to vacating the alley -because the lot access will be from the front of the property. There was discussion on who would be impacted by this decision, as the change to the alley could impact lots that would need a driveway. There was conflicting information and it was suggested that the Bill be tabled. The floor was open for public comments. There were no comments in favor or opposition for the Bill. Committee Vice-Chair Hamann motioned to recommend Bill No. 11-22 to full council without a recommendation, seconded by Committee Member Littrell, and carried by a vote of five (5) ayes.
