Committee Chair Sheila Niezgodski called to order the Personnel and Finance Committee at 3:30

Bill No. 18-22, Making Juneteenth a City Holiday
Kacey Gergely noted that this is a federal holiday and should also be a city holiday. It will increase
the volume of city holidays from nine (9) to ten ( 10). Committee Vice-Chair Wax asked the
budgetary impact for Juneteenth. Ms. Early noted that she will advise the Committee of this. The
County has fourteen (14) holidays. It was noted that President Biden has supported this federally
and it would be prudent to follow his example.
The floor was opened for public comment. There were no comments in favor or opposed to the
resolution.
Committee member Tomas Morgan motioned send Bill No . 18-22 to full council with a favorable
recommendation, seconded by Committee member Warner, and carried by a vote of three (3) ayes.
