Committee Chair Sheila Niezgodski called to order the Public Works & Property Vacation
Committee meeting at 3 :48 p.m.
Bill No. 46-23 -An Ordinance for an Alley Vacation for Property Located at 1405 Portage
Ave. and 1301 Elwood Ave.
This was given a favorable recommendation by the Board of Public Works. Praveen Gulati, 1405
Portage A venue, South Bend, IN 46616, noted that he owns the property and is requesting to vacate
the alley. Without this, his project cannot be completed. The project has been cleared by the fire
and police departments. It was confirmed that the neighbor to the north has been advised of this
project.
Committee Chair Niezgodski held the public hearing, and nobody spoke.
Committee Vice-Chair Karen White motioned to send Bill No. 46-23 to the Council of the Whole
with a favorable recommendation, seconded by Committee member Hamann, and carried by a vote
of five ayes.

With no further business, Committee Chair Niezgodski adjourned the committee meeting at 3:50
