Committee Chair Sheila Niezgodski called to order the Public Works & Property Vacation
Committee meeting at 4:00 p.m.
Bill No. 22-23 -Alley Vacation: Alley lying West of Eddy Street South by North Rt. of way
of Quimby Street
Terry Lang, 1402 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend, IN 46615, owns four (4) parcels and has agreed
to remove the sidewalk and curb cut as requested by the Board of Public Works. The parcels will
be reconfigured to distribute appropriately between the three houses located there.
The Board of Public Works gave a favorable recommendation subject to the removal of the alley
approach, the installation of a six-inch (6) curb as per City standards and to providing a cross-
access agreement to 315 South Eddy Street, South Bend.
Committee Vice-Chair Karen White motioned to send Bill No. 22-23 to the Committee of the
Whole with a favorable recommendation, subject to the agreed upon conditions, seconded by
Committee Member Lori Hamann and carried by a vote of four (4) ayes, with one (1) committee
member absent.
