Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South
Bend met in the Council Chambers of the County -City Building on
Monday, January 4, 1998, at 5:07 p.m.
ROLL CALL Present: Council Members Pfeifer,
Kelly, King, Varner,
Ujdak, Coleman, Hosinski
and Sniadecki
Absent: Council Member Aranowski
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
City Clerk, Loretta Duda, conducted the presidential election.
Council Member Hosinski a motion to nominate Council Member
Coleman president, seconded by Council Member King. The motion
carried. There being no further nominations, Mrs. Duda announced
that Council Member Coleman was elected by acclamation.
Council President Coleman conducted the balance of the meeting.
Council Member Pfeifer made a motion to nominate Council Member
Hosinski vice president, seconded by Council Member King. The
motion carried. There being no further nominations, Council
President Coleman announced that Council Member Hosinski was
elected by acclamation.
Council Member Kelly made a motion to nominate Council Member
Pfeifer chairman of the Committee of the Whole, seconded by
Council Member King. The motion carried. There being no further
nominations, Council President Coleman announced Council Member
Pfeifer was elected by acclamation.
APPOINTMENT OF COUNCIL ATTORNEY
Council President Coleman announced that Kathleen Cekanski-
Farrand has been reappointed Council attorney for 1999.
There being no further business to come before the Council,
Council President Coleman adjourned the meeting at 5:11 p.m.
