AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $60,000.00 FROM THE
FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT FUND, COMMONLY REFERRED
TO AS THE GENERAL REVENUE SHARING TRUST FUND FOR
VEHICLES FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF CODE ENFORCEMENT
AND THE BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to maintain services, the Department of Code
Enforcement needs four automobiles and the Bureau of Traffic and
Lighting needs two trucks. Funds are available within the General
Revenue Sharing Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: That the sum of $60,000.00 is hereby
appropriated for the year 1984 from the Federal Assistance Grant
Fund commonly referred to as the General Revenue Sharing Trust
Fund. This appropriation is to be administered by the Department
of Public Works and will be distributed as set forth below:

The attached ordinance requests the appropriation of $60,000.00 from
General Revenue Sharing for the purchase of vehicles in the Depart-
ment of Code Enforcement and Bureau of Traffic & Lighting. The new
vehicles will replace existing equipment no longer able to economically
be used.
