AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $43,800.00 FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT FUND, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE GENERAL REVENUE SHARING TRUST FUND FOR THE 1984 SUMMER CLEAN -UP PROGRAM. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: Funds are needed for equipment and supplies for the 1984 Summer Clean -Up Program. Personnel costs will be paid through the JTPA program. Monies are available within the General Revenue Sharing Fund. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: That the sum of $43,800.00 is hereby appropriated for tfie year 1984 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund commonly referred to as the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. PARENT, Mayor COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 Department of Code Enforcement Dear Members of the Council: 2191284.9486 2191284.9498 2191284.9325 The Department of Code Enforcement is requesting $43,800.00 from the Federal Assistance Grant to supplement the budget for the 1984 Summer Clean Up Program. Fifteen (15) young adults between the ages of 18 and 21 and three (3) supervisors will be employed through the JTPA Program to work with the Code Enforcement Clean Up Crew from the second week in June until the end of August to assist in the clean up of City owned property. Personnel costs for the program will be paid by the JTPA Program. The Federal Assistance. Grant will provide financial support for equip- ment repair,rental of vans to transport the crew members, gasoline for the vans, the purchase of new lawn mowers and a new truck. It is necessary to replace the second clean up crew truck because of continual breakdowns. The truck is seven (7) years old and has been driven 70,000 miles.
