AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING $728,265.00 AMONG
VARIOUS ACCOUNTS, ALL ACCOUNTS BEING WITHIN
THE DIVISION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT.
Statement of Purpose and Intent:
The 1983 Program Year for Community Development Block Grant Funds
ended December 31, 1983, and the 1984 Program Year began on January 1, 1984. To
the extent possible in recent years Community Development Block Grant Funds
remaining available at the end of the Program Year have been reprogrammed to the
current Program Year to assure accurate monitoring and accounting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I. The sum of $728,265.00 is hereby transferred for
the Program Year commencing January 1, 1984, among various accounts as set forth
below:

This ordinance submitted for your consideration primarily represents a
reprogramming of funds from the 1983 program year to the current 1984
program year. The following programs represent those where plans
and /or work are in progress and the amount remaining unused is
necessary for completion: Hansel Carriage House Rehab, General Street
Improvements, Economic Development Capital Fund, Studebaker Corridor
Development, and Max's Grocery Rehab.
The NHS Housing Program activity represents funding for revolving
rehabilitation loans for their Northwest area. Since its inception
Neighborhood Housing Service has actively promoted rehabilitation in
the Northwest through the use of a revolving fund. Currently the
organization has only a small amount available for rehabilitation and
this.funding would enable rehabilitation of 5 to 7 structures.
