ORDINANCE NO . 7 3 o3 - 9'4
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $4,782.00
FROM THE HIGHWAYS SAFETY FUND FOR
EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
A grant from the Indiana Department of
Highways has been approved for the purchase of equipment to
be used for enforcement of traffic safety laws. Monies from
the grant will be available and need to be appropriated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That the sum of $4,782.00 be approp-
riated from the Highways Safety Fund. This appropriation is to
be administered by the Police Department of the City of South Bend
and will be distributed as set forth below:

SECTION II. That this Ordinance shall be in
full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common
Council, approval by the Mayor and approval by the State Board of
Tax Commissioners.

Purpose: Purchase Accident Investigation Equipment
This grant was applied for so as to help purchase the below listed
accident investigator equipment.
4 Canon Sure Shot 35 mm cameras with flash equipment
2 Canon AE -1 35 mm cameras with high intensity flash equipment
2 Tape recorders
2 Collapsible measuring wheels
50 Safety Cones

All of the above equipment is needed to update our accident investigation
equipment to provide better equipment for a more professional accident invest-
igation.
Thank you for your continuing support to make South Bend a safer place for
the motoring public.
