AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR OPERATION
OF THE YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU RUNAWAY SHELTER.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
The Common Council of the City of South Bend desires to continue
the operation of the Youth Service Bureau Runaway Shelter during the period
July 1, 1984 through June 30, 1985. Funding sources for the Shelter include
the Department of Health and Human Services Runaway & Homeless Youth Act;
Indiana Office of Social Services; the St. Joseph County Department of
Public Welfare, the Dayton- Hudson Foundation, St. Joseph County Commissioners,
and private donations. It is necessary that sums be appropriated for the
continued operation of the Shelter using funds received from these sources.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I. For the expenses of the Shelter of the Youth Service
Bureau for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1985, the following sums of
money are hereby appropriated and ordered set apart from fund 73. The
sums herein appropriated shall be deemed to include all expenditures
authorized to be made in said year and shall be distributed as set forth
below:

Attached is an ordinance appropriating $103,325, for operation of the
Runaway Shelter for the period July 1, 1984 through June 30, 1985.
Revenue sources and amounts are:
Runaway $ Homeless Youth Act $63,000.
Social Service Block Grant $15,525.
Per diems from area County Welfare Departments $15,000.
St. Joseph County Commissioners $ 7,000.
Dayton- Hudson Foundation $ 2,800.
I believe all line items are self explanatory. This ordinance covers the
complete cost of the Runaway Shelter for one year.
