Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Council
Chambers of the County -City Building on Monday, January 6, 2003, at 5:00 p.m. The meeting was
called to order by Councilmember Roland Kelly and the Invocation and Pledge to the Flag were
given.

ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT FOR 2003
Councilmember Pfeifer nominated Councilmember Karen L. White for the office of President.
Councilmember King seconded the motion which carried by acclamation. Newly elected President
White thanked the Council for the opportunity to serve in this capacity.
ELECTION OF COUNCIL VICE- PRESIDENT FOR 2003
Council President White nominated Councilmember Sean Coleman for the office of Vice - President.
Councilmember Aranowski seconded the motion which carried by acclamation.
ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON - COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE FOR 2003
Council President White nominated Councilmember King for the office of Chairperson - Committee
of the Whole. Councilmember Pfeifer seconded the motion which carried by acclamation.
RE- APPOINTMENT OF COUNCIL ATTORNEY - 2003
Councilmember King made a motion to reappoint Ms. Kathleen Cekanski - Farrand as the Council
Attorney for 2003. Councilmember Kuspa seconded the motion which carried by acclamation.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at 5:08 p.m.
