Mawy 0. Ewing, being duly sivoin, upon her oath says
she is now and for more than yeoxe last past has

and that she is the widow of George W. Ewing, Jr., rho was the
grantee in a certain deed dated October 27, 1862, and recorded
February 16, 1863, in Deed *Recoxd AD, page 581, of the records
in the office of the Reooxder of St. Joseph County, Indiana,
whereby there was conveyed to said George W. Twing, Jr., by
Esther Ewing, with whom this affiant was well acquainted and who
was A Fant of the said George W. Wing, Jr., the undivided
one -sixth (1/6) part of Section 23, in Township 37 North, of
Range 2 East, in avid St. JoGeph County; that at the time of
the execution of said deed the Wd Zrantor, Esthex Ewing, was
then unmarried and over the age of 21 yearsland that affiant
"as also well anquainted with Geoige W. Ewing who was the father
of said George W. Ewing, Jr., end who was grantor in a certain

said Section 23 and that at the time of the execution of said last

WARRANTY DEED
THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH that Studebaker Realty Compan
:poration organized amd existing under the laws of the State
City Water Works of the City of South Bend, of St. Joseph County,
State of Indiana, its successors and assigns, for the sum of One
Dollar (11,00) and other good and valuable considerations, the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the following described
real estate situated in St. Joseph County, in the State of Indiana,

That portion of the southeast quarter (SES) Of section
Twenty—three (23), Township Thirty—seven (37) North, Range Two
(2) East, which lies east of the xight—of—way of the Terre Haute
and Logansport Railway CompanyVPaow known as the Pennsylvania
Railroad Companyt° ontalning twenty"eight and fourteen -hundredths
(28.11) acres, more or les8.
Oubject to the assessment for the Fairview — Main Street
Trunk Sewer and subject to the tames for the years 1927 and 1928,
payable in the years 1928 and 1929, respectively, which assessment
and taxes the grantee assumes and agrees to pay.
Subject also to any assessments which may have been
placed against the above described real estate since October 31,
1927.
Subject also to the easement of all public highways.
And the grantor covenants for itself, its successors and
assigns that it is lawfully seized of the premises, has good right
to convey the same and guarantees the quiet possession thereof
and that said premises are free from all encumbrances excepting
the assessments and taxes above stated and that it will warrant
and defend the title to the same against all lawful claims.
