A RESOLUTION APPOINTING THE INITIAL
COMMUNITY POLICE REVIEW BOARD MEMBERS
WHEREAS, on October 5, 2020, the South Bend Common Council passed Ordinance
No. 10721-20 establishing the Community Police Review Board, Review Board Office, and
position of Review Office Director; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-12.1.13(a) provides that Review Board composed of nine(9)
Members shall be selected from nominees submitted by each member of the Common Council,
including at large Council members; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-12.1.13(a)(1) states that "[nJo Council Member may nominate
more than three (3) candidates for appointment to the Review Board"and requires at least one
(1) Board Member be appointed from each City Councilmanic District; and
WHEREAS, Councilmembers have nominated the following individuals:
Canneth Lee: Sherria Williams (resides in District 1)
Henry Davis, Jr.: Tiana Batteast Waddell (resides in District 2)
Ophelia Gooden-Rogers: Komonique Coppage(resides in District 2)
Sharon McBride: Isacc Hunt(resides in District 3)
Kelly Johnson(resides in District 3)
Troy Warner: LuElla Webster(resides in District 4)
Eli Wax: Jason Kring(resides in District 5)
Sherry Bolden-Simpson: Dennis James Givens (resides District 5)
Sheila Niezgodski: Clara Davis (resides in District 6)
Karen White: Joseph Adams (resides in District 5)
Lori Hamann: Dr. De' Bryant (resides in District 1)
Rachel Tomas Morgan: Cheryl Ashe (resides in District 5)
Oliver Davis: Otis V. Davis (resides in District 6)
NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of
South Bend now do make the following appointments to the Police Review Board:
District 1: Sherria Williams District 2: Komonique Thomas
District 3: Kelly Johnson District 4: LuElla Webster
District 5: Dennis James Givens District 6: Clara Davis
At-Large—District 5: Joseph Adams At-Large—District 6: Otis V. Davis
At-Large—District 5: Cheryl Ashe
