Only one item was scheduled for the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee, that being an

recommendation would be ready in 90 days or approximately the middle of May.
Under miscellaneous Chairperson Oliver Davis asked Eric and Gary to address the rising groundwater
levels near the ethanol plant since it was closed. Once the plants water pumps were shut off rising
ground water levels resulted in flooded basements for homes near the plant.
David Varner said a statement of "where things stand" was needed from the administration. Karen White
echoed that statement. Henry Davis said the lack of response from the Mayor was unacceptable.
Something should be done to help the homes affected he stated.
Kathy Cekanski - Farrand, Council Attorney asked that the interim City Attorney, Aladean DeRose provide
a statement of responsibility.
Oliver Davis suggested TIF maoney be used to provide relief for the homeowners, noting expenditure of
TIF money comes from the Redevelopment Commission which is made up of 5 members, 3 of whom are
appointed by the Mayor. Oliver closed by calling for the City to form a task force to gather info and
recommend solution for the water problem. This was to be done promptly with a report to the Council.
There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, Chairperson Oliver Davis
adjourned,eeting at 4:52 p.m.
