Agenda: Bill No. 13 -15 — Request meeting with Federal Rep. to Improve Immigration
Oliver Davis, Chair of the Community Relations Committee called this hearing to promote a
path to citizenship for illegal immigrants in this country. To promote this view the resolution
encouraged the engagement of our federal representatives in Congress to meet with local leaders
to listen and work toward making the "dream act" a reality.
Valerie Schey offered support. Henry Davis cautioned against raising false expectations in that
these considerations fall under federal authority.
Jesusa Rivera, local leader in the Hispanic community spoke in support.
Ultimately, Valerie Schey motioned the bill get a favorable recommendation. Tim Scott
seconded and all supported.
